Henry's Stash

My mother is coming up on Monday, yes, in five days. She told me today. I was thinking she might, but she was waffling. The confirmation of her trip, as well as the soggy weather, put me in overdrive. In the spirit of full disclosure I will tell you that I am maybe not the best housekeeper. As I was straightening this, and vaccuming that, and plumbing the depths of some scary corner, I kept running across balls of yarn, hanks of freshly spun yarn, and bits of yarn left over from other projects. Instead of putting them right where they belong the first time, I kept putting them on top of a bureau in our front room. That was a holding pattern for sorting them and properly stashing them in said bureau. When I was finally ready to stash these lovely yarns, I came upon Henry. He now believes that I put these soft wools there for his pleasure, perhaps to enhance his bird watching experience. Hmmmm...how will I break it to him?

What is it with cats & yarn anyway? My kitty can't wait till I sit down and then she comes over to start kneading the ball of yarn I'm knitting from. (I learned long ago not to leave any knitting project just lying around because she thinks it's her new bed!)
BTW, I love the picture of Henry...my cat has a similar expression on her face when she's laying on my yarn.

Ruthie,

I think there might be some happy hormone/pheromone or something in the lanolin fumes.

Dave,
If I bribe him with any kind of yummy, I am reasonably sure he will forgive me.

Aw, heck, Trixie. Let him have the pile. You can spin more, right?

Tricia/Trixie --

Glad I read it here. Mom told us she was planning to head your way, but I thought it was later. She can tell you all about how Marietta does at Bellbrook's band competition -- which is Saturday.

Enjoy her visit!

He is a cat and found a good place to sit . . . . hmm sorry to tell you but I don't think whatever bribe you give he will not leave!

Aw, poor Henry. He just found the yarn and now you are taking it from him? Say it ain't so.
Many years ago when I knit a blanket for my son, our cat at that time loved to lie on the blanket. Then when I flipped it (it was all on one big needle) she would go nuts trying to pounce all over it.

Trixie, Henry doesn't understand "no". He is the king who appreciates a fine view near the window on a soft bed you made for him.
