November Sky

Like most photographs this one does not even begin to capture the beauty that met me when I saw the inlet. I came around the corner to my home, arriving from classes and piano lessons, and shopping. The girls were quiet and nappy, I was worn out and needing some quiet time. We all gasped. There was golden light imbuing the clouds, playing on all the waves below. Breathe in, breathe out. Yes, even with all the grey the light is gorgeous.

That's exactly what I miss most about Alaska - that moment when you turn a corner to see the view you've been looking at for years, and are able to say, "Wow. Amazing."
Thank you for sharing it!

What a soothing, peaceful gaze you had. Just when you all needed it :o)

Trixie: That is one spectacular photo! I read you comment on Dave's blog, Around Anchorage, where you said you talked to a bird near the Orthodox church in Juneau....I was there! I'm a PA gal but visited Alaska 10 years ago. I was so excited to know the area that you spoke of...oh well, guess it doesn't take much to excite me. I enjoy your blog, your girls are darling!

Alright, you really need to email me (bonjourloriATgmailDOTcom) so I have your address - I can't respond to your comments on my blog! Yes, the river is right in front of my house (so is the highway that runs over it) It's a great spot. Thanks for the compliments on the sweater!

I get frustrated when I can' make my camera see what I do. But I think you did a fine job.

PS...we have sunsets in Ohio, you know.

PSS...tell me to shut up whenever you like.
