Another Foot of Snow

It seems there is a great deal of moisture streaming up from Hawaii. This coupled with a Siberian high, keeping us cold, is making lots of snow. Sigh...

I am in denial. I am drinking Frangelico in my coffee, trying to dull the pain. I am usually not so morose about the snow, but two feet in a few April days is enough to drive anyone to hang out with a monk.

Now, how many magpies can you see? Look closely. This was a very unusual grouping. We normally see about three or four at a time. Not today.

The boreals were earnest in their pursuit of the suet. I am just glad I could help.

As for the redpolls, they were frenetic. They are eating so very much that they have me in a quandary. It is just about time to take down the feeds as our friend and brother,Ursus Americanus , will be making an appearance soon. I was trying not to buy anymore seed. I don't want any excess hanging around tempting the bears. Now, I may have to buy some to placate my redpolls.

Henry was very, very engaged. He only smacked the window about six times.

I am soo sorry to hear about your foot of snow! Those birds look like they are so ready for spring to arrive!

Goodness--again. I had to look at the date of your post. Another foot!
And the poor birds. Of course they are eating like crazy, just trying to stay warm.
Does Henry have a special meow for birds only? I swear one of my cats had a "word" for bird.

Have you discussed what happened at your work today about 4:30pm? One of our birds hung out with your guys for a while. It was just another boring visit for me. :)

We feel your pain. How I wish I could send you a warm wind from Ohio. I rototilled the garden today and got the lettuce and peas in. Now, you must move to Ohio.
Our package was just overwhelming! How incredibly sweet of you. Totally unnecessary but classy as all get out to shower us with goodies.

Julie,

I hope you enjoy it all. And the map, that was fun! I am a total map goober and love giving them to others.

I can imagine how a late storm weighs on you! Especially as you watch flowers popping up across the country.

Soon, very soon.

Henry must enjoy his view. Poor kitty nose!

Gee, Trixie, I really feel for ya. Really...

I could not resist feeding all of those birds and I'm glad you did.

And I was pouting about 11 cloudy days. Shame on me.

Wow! Snow is unknown to me :(
Glad to see the birds that visit your property have you to take care of them :)

Good-ness! All that snow in April...it's obscene! But, I must say, putting Frangelico in your coffee is the best way to cope that I've ever heard. Pour me a cup of that great stuff and I'll be up to visit. Of course your birdies are in a feeding frenzy...there's nothing else for those poor feathered folks. Hang in there, Trixie....easy for me to say.

Hi Trixie,
Isn't that all the snow you were supposed to get in February?? Poor ol' Mother Nature is really confused this year.

BTW, I counted 14 magpies--Very cool to see that many (I would be thrilled to see even 1!)

I didn't realize that Magpies were up your way.-Very cool to see them in the snow like that!I can imagine that the weather you have to deal with could become a bit draining.
