Rather Moosey

Look across the street with me. What is that among the hemlock and the alder? I think I see two moose.

Is that a third moose? Gee, one looks like he has grown just one paddle. I wonder how that feels? Does he have a constant crook in his neck?

The next day I heard something on the front stoop.

A baby moose! Are you going to ring the bell?

She was browsing our old hanging baskets with her momma.

I have been thinking of Meggie this last week. We have had so many moose hanging around our neighborhood. Mind you my moose photos are not nearly as nice as Dave's, they are very local.

Awww. So cute! I am envious of your neighbors.

Great photos, Trixie. What did the girls do when they saw a MOOSE?

Remember how the moose loved that decorative kale Mom planted at the old house on Pioneer Dr. 30 yrs ago? They would kneel down right outside the big living room window & munch away. What big brutes...

The girls squeal with delight, try to get a better look, and give them a wide berth! They can be protective.

Aw, you've got such a lovely family of yard-meese! I've seen droppings in the woods behind our house, but Maine moose seem to be too shy to come into view.

Wow, it would be so cool to see Moose so close....well, maybe not THAT close!

Neat photos!

Holy cow in a canoe, Trixie....those are amazing pictures! Will they hang around like that all winter or browse elsewhere once they've eaten all the treats outside your house?

I like pix's like that when they're visiting at home. We don't get them around my neighborhood that much anymore. Too many homes have been built not enough trees and bushes. I didn't take my hanging plants down this year either. :)

How superbly fabulous!!! I am thoroughly envious! I was in Oregon for the holiday weekend and while I was disappointed that it didn't snow while we were there, I WAS pleased that it got below 20. That was a treat for me.

I saw deer in the field but, amazingly, not one single moose! :)

Thanks for the pics. They are really wonderful.

Oh Trixie! Your photos are awesome!!! I'm sitting here looking at the photos and don't even know what to say, I am sooooo thrilled to see them so close!!! I know they are wild animals but aren't they cute....especially the females and young ones. Easy for me to say...they are not chomping away at shrubs in my yard. Thanks so much for sharing.

Absolutely fabulous pics of the mooses, they are ginormous, and they look right in your windows, I'd probably freak out. I'm use to smaller animals, cats, possums, coons and the like out on the deck, and under the feeders although a rare deer comes through the yard. What a thrill. Does this happen often with moose at your house?

I love this! I was at the bookstore the othwer day and saw a great children's Christmas book about Santa using a moose instead of a reindeer for practice. Then I saw (and bought) some organic moose pasta at Ikea. I love those beasts. Lucky you.

I never think of moose as being cute but that one sorta is.We see them up in Northern New Hampshire but sounds like you have plenty around.
