New Visitor to the Yard

Thanks to Zoey for being so alert, we spotted a new visitor to the yard today.

It is a grey-crowned rosy finch. Sorry the pictures are not too great, but this was a swift moving fellow.

Hi Trixie,
What a pretty little bird. I checked my Sibley's Western bird guide and it shows they're summer residents in most of Alaska. He blends in really well with your ground cover and vegetation...Miss Zoey is a very keen observer!

Very cool bird! I would be extra excited finding one of these in my yard! Bravo to Zoey!

Good going, Zoey! That's an attractive little bird and the photos aren't bad at all. The fast ground movers are very difficult to follow!

Hi again Trixie,
I tagged you with the 'Eight Random Things Meme' for your blog (only if you want to & just for fun)
Thanks!

Good job, Zoey!
A grey-crowned rosy finch....your birds seem so exotic to me. If we ever got a rosy finch, I would wet my pants.
